Poetry Videos Are The Future, Stolen Books Are History

Here’s a nice review of Larry Woiwode’s poetic memoir.

Kudos to Deborah Ager for finding this video of Galway Kinnell reading “Black Milk of Daybreak”.

But what’s up with this cameraman?

Yes, I believe poetry videos are the future, but I believe they must be much more creative than some guy standing on a stage reading from a book. How about some interpretive moving images?

Oh, and can you imagine that Bukowski’s books are the most stolen from bookstores? Tragic, but funny.

I don’t know about books but over here if you walk into a second-hand music store and look for Pink Floyd you will invariably find a little card with words similar to this on it:

Pink Floyd albums are held behind the counter. Please ask an assistant for help.

That’s funny. I can imagine that Pink Floyd is all the rage there seeing as how they are from that region. How about U2? Are they so popular people will steal them?

I don’t think the poet knew he was being recorded. I hear you on making the videos more interesting, yet this will still be a record. Even if the video is not perfect in all aspects, I’m fairly pleased we have the ability to record the person as well as their voice. Thank you for the link! =)
